When you visit our website, we may automatically collect technical data including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs. This data is collected through cookies and similar technologies and may be processed by third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Enrollment and account management — to place students in the correct grade and format, assign advisors, and maintain academic records.
  • Communication — to respond to inquiries, send lesson schedules, deliver advisor progress reports to parents, and notify families of relevant school updates.
  • Payment processing — to handle tuition payments securely through Stripe.
  • Academic record-keeping — to issue transcripts, diplomas, and official documents that reflect a student’s completed coursework and GPA.
  • Accreditation compliance — to meet the reporting and record-keeping requirements of ACS WASC and College Board.
  • Website improvement — to understand how visitors use our site and improve its content and performance.
  • Legal obligations — to comply with applicable U.S. federal and Florida state law.

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable under GDPR or similar frameworks, we process personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — processing necessary to enroll a student and deliver educational services.
  • Legitimate interests — operating and improving our website, communicating with prospective families, maintaining school records.
  • Legal obligation — compliance with U.S. law, accreditation requirements, and tax obligations.
  • Consent — where we rely on consent (e.g. marketing communications), you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us at hello@shkolaonline.com.

4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

Our services are provided to students, including children under the age of 13. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. All enrollment, communication, and account management for students under 13 is handled exclusively through a parent or legal guardian.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent, please contact us immediately at hello@shkolaonline.com and we will delete that information promptly.

5. Payment Data and Stripe

Tuition and fee payments are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you make a payment, your card details are entered directly into Stripe’s secure environment. We do not receive, store, or have access to your full card number, CVV, or expiry date.

Stripe processes payment data in accordance with PCI DSS standards and its own Privacy Policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. By making a payment through our website, you also agree to Stripe’s terms of service.

6. Sharing of Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — third parties who help us operate the school, including our learning platform (Buzz), payment processor (Stripe), and communication tools. These providers access data only as necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Accreditation bodies — ACS WASC and College Board, to the extent required by accreditation compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Universities and institutions — when a student or parent requests that an official transcript or diploma be sent to a specific institution.
  • Legal requirements — when disclosure is required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — to enable core site functionality, remember your preferences, and collect anonymized usage data. We may use the following categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the website to function. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — used to understand how visitors navigate the site (e.g. Google Analytics). This data is aggregated and anonymized.
  • Marketing cookies — used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns (e.g. Meta Pixel). These are only active if you have consented.

You can manage or disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of our website.

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as required by law:

  • Inquiry and contact data — up to 2 years from last contact if enrollment did not proceed.
  • Student academic records (transcripts, GPA, diplomas) — retained indefinitely, as graduates may request official documents years after graduation.
  • Payment records — retained for 7 years in accordance with U.S. tax law.
  • Website analytics data — retained in anonymized form per the terms of the applicable analytics provider.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. These include encrypted transmission (HTTPS), access controls limiting who within our organization can view student records, and contractual obligations on third-party service providers to maintain equivalent standards.
