Academy of Global Education SHKOLA holds Initial Accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) for grades K–12, granted at the Winter 2025 Commission Meeting by letter dated February 19, 2025 and valid through June 30, 2028.

Accreditation is the reason a SHKOLA diploma functions as a U.S. high school diploma rather than a certificate of completion. It means the school’s programs, teaching, and student outcomes are reviewed against published standards by an external body — and that the review continues for as long as the school holds the status.

In accordance with the Commission’s terms, the school is entitled to state that it is Accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

What Initial Accreditation Means

Initial Accreditation is the first full accreditation status a school receives after an on-site review by an ACS WASC visiting committee. It is granted for a defined term rather than indefinitely, and it carries continuing obligations.

Before the end of the current term, the school completes a self-study assessment and submits a self-study report documenting progress against the visiting committee’s recommendations. An ACS WASC visiting committee then conducts a site visit to review the findings, observe classes, and speak with students, families, and staff.

Accreditation status is conditioned on the school’s continued adherence to ACS WASC policies, procedures, and criteria, including the obligation to notify the Commission of any substantive changes to the educational program.

College Board Authorization

SHKOLA is an authorized College Board provider of Advanced Placement courses under school code 964748. This authorization is separate from ACS WASC accreditation: it allows the school to offer official AP courses and to prepare students for College Board examinations. AP examination results are reported by College Board directly and are assessed independently by each university.

Diplomas and Transcripts

Upon completion of the required credits, students receive a U.S. High School Diploma and an official transcript. Transcripts of students graduating from or transferring out of accredited grade levels may bear the ACS WASC accredited seal, or carry the accreditation statement in text form.

Official documents are issued at the written request of the student or their parent or legal guardian. Admission requirements vary by institution and country, and we recommend confirming document requirements directly with the universities a student intends to apply to.
