This is an intermediate course with concepts across various branches of science, including such fields as Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science. Through experiences that include defining problems, conducting investigations, using the scientific method, using evidence, asking questions, making predictions, comparing observations, making inferences, using the engineering design process and developing models, students learn about the properties of matter and changes in matter, atoms, mixtures, energy and its forms, force and motion, the galaxies and the solar system, the water cycle, weather and climate, the organs and functions of the human body, the structure, function and comparison of organisms, adaptations and ecosystems.
